It’s nearly Halloween! In my personal opinion all of the new horror films out this month are pretty wank, so get yourselves on Kodi and check out some of my recommendations to get you in the spirit.
Modern Horror
Hands down, my favourite “modern” film is Sinister. The second was absolute shit, but the first was spine tingling. Spoilers aside, the recordings are incredibly creepy and along with the perfect audio ambience, this is one fairly unique film and gets the hairs on your arms raised multiple times.
Classic Horror
Black Christmas. It’s another one of those horrors that feels a bit weird to watch in October with the Christmas theme, but ignoring that it’s a brilliant old-timer. Plus Margot Kidder is amazing in it (I remember her as being from this film, not SuperFag). I actually used a sample from this in a song years ago, ’twas pretty cool.
Artsy Horror
Although not necessarily scary in the sense, Anti-Christ is incredibly dark and features some brutal gore moments. This is more psychological than anything else, but I haven’t seen anything like it, at least that is worth watching.
Fucking Weird Horror
Now we’re at my favourite category. Thanatamorphose. You want fucked up, this is it. This film got me into body horrors, and for an independent film the gore looks damn realistic. Most body horrors look pretty awful but they’re fun nonetheless. There was a whole thing a year or so ago about Veronica on Netflix making people sick. That film was shite (there’s actually a Spanish film of the same name in 2017 that was much better). If you want to watch someone slowly rot to death over the course of 90 minutes, this is the one!
I’m A Pussy But Want A Film To Watch Anyway
Just watch Orgazmo. You’ll love it.
HAPPY HALLOWEENING
