I have always liked split releases. Although it sometimes feels a bit weird buying half a record for a band you love and getting another half for one you have never cared for, you get instances where you can be weaned onto a new band via the select track(s). This PABST/AUTISTI split could easily be that for fans of either band.

Instrumental bands are another one of those areas of music that I find to be extremely hit or miss. I am fond of bands like Maybeshewill and That Fucking Tank, but when it comes to more established artists like Mogwai… well I like the music, but something about it doesn’t captivate me as much as it should. However, Closet Disco Queen are right up there in my opinion.

Closet Disco Queen Announce New EP Share New Song Via New Noise Magazine
Swiss instrumental psychedelic rockers Closet Disco Queen, formed by members of Coilguns and The Ocean, have announced a new EP entitled “Sexy Audio Deviance For Punk Bums”. The three-track EP is set for release on April 7th through Crazysane Records, Division Records and Unquiet Records and further continues the duo’s exploration of 70s instrumental and progressive kraut-rock started on their 2015’s self-titled debut.

Capital Youth – Lemonade [EP Review]
Over the course of writing reviews for The Cauteriser, I have somehow managed to dig into darker, dirtier and all round noisier bands as I’ve gone along. Then Capital Youth come along with something a lot more, shall I say normal? It took my ears a few play throughs to get back to grips with something that isn’t bombarded with distortion and unpredictable loudness, but damn, Lemonade is one solid EP.
