Trigger Cut – Buster [Album Review]
If people listened to music with as much care as Trigger Cut have put into Buster, the world of music would be a very different place.

I’ve been so caught up by the amazing experimental, industrial and explosive music coming in recently, I almost forgot what it was like to hear some solid punk rock coming into my inbox. And here we are…
Society Of Losers are a record label with some hot shit on their hands right now, and new to their roster Sweet Deals On Surgery are yet another UK band to piss yourself with excitement over.
You remember in the 90s when a herd of pop punk bands influenced by the likes of The Descendents were starting to gain traction and were pretty good, but then rapidly turned to dog shite alongside the mainstream success? Von Stache are like that peak in the genre, and with their third release, still not showing any signs of becoming said mainstream dog shite. Who said punk was dead?
The last month has seen us check out some pretty outlandish, abstract and noisy releases, so it’s strange to say that Living In A Radio City has felt refreshing to listen to, considering it offers little more than any other modern day alternative artist out there. But on the plus, Cross Wires have something decent going on here.
Bands that offer this frantic heavy punk-rock sound, like Winnebago Deal and The Dwyers, are an immediate win for me. Immediate 9/10 – review sorted.
In all honesty, one reason why Cauteriser went a bit quiet is because I got bored of the constant samey doom/sludge/metally albums that just offered the same qualities for me to write about. Now this… although not too far apart by sound, is a whole other level at the same time.
It is no secret, I favour any requests for reviews from smaller independent artists over the PR company mass mail outs that I receive. Well of all of the ones that I have glanced over, The Good The Bad And The Zugly are one of the bands that stood out the most. Not just because of the outlandish name, but being described as “Norway’s best kept punk rock secret” had me intrigued.
I would have never put Fat Mike and Dinosaur Jr together, but that’s the kind of thing Von Stache sent my head running to with their latest EP, Quiet, Brain.
