Sometimes a band will crop up out of nowhere and kick you so hard in the dick that the hairs fly out of your skin. Most Cloths at the ready, this is Jean Foutre.
I’ve been so caught up by the amazing experimental, industrial and explosive music coming in recently, I almost forgot what it was like to hear some solid punk rock coming into my inbox. And here we are…
Society Of Losers are a record label with some hot shit on their hands right now, and new to their roster Sweet Deals On Surgery are yet another UK band to piss yourself with excitement over.
So here we are, me finally getting around to writing another review, and yet another release that has torn my opinion right down the middle (or there abouts).
I’d say a good third of bands that I cover are compared to the likes of Nirvana or The Melvins within their little PR seller. Although most do somewhat earn the comparison, none quite to the deserved extent as Forever In Debt do.
Listening to this track, I completely forgot I was listening to a British band. Take that as you will.
First thing to get out of the way, if you didn’t know anything about this band when first listening to them, you would be easily mistake Dead Houses as a new band that Guy McKnight from Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster has started. If that does happen to be something you want, then this band is an immediate winner.
I’m pretty sure that I have previously shared my opinion on releases that start out incredibly hard hitting, and how they tend to wade off as the record progresses. Well, Factions is one EP that within the first few seconds struck me with that Fuck-Yeah-factor.
